Article explores roles of NGOs in health systems under siege

A recent article published in Social Science & Medicine, “Healthcare under siege: Geopolitics of medical service provision in the Gaza Strip,” is a qualitative look at the impacts of military and civil conflict on health systems and practices in Gaza.  Ron J. Smith cites the NGO Code of Conduct for Health Systems Strengthening as one potential tool to fight the destabilization of the public health system in societies under pressure from war and violence.
