As this transition takes place, North Carolina will be faced with challenges and opportunities as governmental, nongovernmental, academic, and private sector actors shape—and are shaped by—this changing landscape. This article addresses the role of the United States in global health policy and analyzes the paths through which this role impacts North Carolina.
